DOMINIQUE DEUFF
PhD in computer science, Engineer and ergonomist, PhD student in ergonomics and design
Orange Innovation
Dominique Deuff is a PhD engineer and an ergonomist in Orange. She obtained her engineering degree in digital imaging in 1997 before completing a PhD in computer science applied to education at France Telecom. After two and a half years at the National Institute of Informatics in Japan as a post-doc, she joined an agile development team at Orange in June 2006.
In 2008, she changed her profession and became an ergonomist after obtaining a master's degree in ergonomics at the University of Paris Descartes. Her various assignments at Orange led her to become interested in design tools and then in the design process.
In 2015, she joined a team working on robotics and, in 2017, she wrote a report on humans and robots. The report concerned what a robot is, the expectations, feelings and imaginations of humans towards robots, as well as ethics in robotics.
Based on this knowledge, in 2018, she starts a PhD in ergonomics and design on the impact of social machines in the homes of young retirees (University of Nantes, Strate école de design, LS2N, Orange). Her focus is on objects with behaviours, and how an everyday object to which behaviour has been assigned can be harmoniously integrated into homes.
